    BB help for Trek bike

Iím starting a build using an old Trek SU100 frame. The BB is threaded, but I donít know much beyond that. Does anyone know the proper BB for this bike? Iím wondering about my options and if I have to stay with a square taper or not.

you dont have to stay with square just need a BB that fits the frame, and also fits the cranks you are using.
If you want to keep using your current cranks (guessing square taper, then you need a square taper BB. You need to measure the length of the spindle and also the width of the BB, that gives you the measurments.
You could go to ISIS or Octalink, but they are pretty old now, will require both new BB and new cranks, so if you do that, may as well go to newer external BB with new cranks.
With extgernal you pretty much don't need to knwo anything at purchase time, just but the cranks and BB and att or remove spacers when fitting.

Threaded BB are either 68 or 73mm in width (er I think there aren't any others unless you have some weird bike with italian thread)

    Mayeb this will help:
All the gear and no idea.
