Anyone know what this frame protector is called? (Solved)

I searched for frame protector hose, tube, housing, donut, etc, but only found stuff about cable housings. I posted in 26er since this is an old '97 Stumpy and I'm guessing it's not used on newer bikes. It's a thinner "housing" that stops the inner rear brake cable from chewing up the top tube. It's kinda like a long, black WD-40 straw.

A bunch of the older Avid cables came with tubing, flak jacket was one, but some were entirely sealed even through the cable stops, not sure if this is the same thing, but it worked pretty well to keep crud out and to keep the cable off the top or other tubes.

Totally makes sense - the original brakes and levers were all Avid. I must have reused these things whenever I replaced the cables. They don't go through the stops so they don't do a whole lot other than look better than donuts, at least IMO. That whole completely sealed thing sounds like a good deal though.

I really appreciate the reply. It was bugging me not knowing anything about this particular part.

You can still get that stuff. It's in a few different Jagwire kits. I can't remember which kit I got it in, but I purchased the kit last in 2018.

Yes! Thanks. Never would have found these online. Probably wouldn't notice even if I looked right at a picture, they look just like cable housings.

I could've lived using donuts or something, but getting the little things right is soooo much better. Thanks for taking the time to post that link!
