2006 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert rear shock replacement

I have a 2006 Stumpy Expert and need a new rear shock but the only available size is 7.5x 2. Mine is currently 7.5x1.75 fox triad which is custom from Specialized. Will the 7.5x2 work? Planning to get the Rock Shox Monarch

Unfortunately I don't have a simple answer. I had a 2005 S-Works Stumpy with the septune rear shock. Had it rebuild twice and was told several years later that they could get parts anymore. Was able to get my hands on a triad but again no parts to rebuild... I found a RP23 that had been customized buy Push industries to fit. You might want to check with them. I have since got a new bike.

Sad to see it happen in this industry too

Seems like Fox is and Specialized do this on purpose to keep us buying new bikes. I understand why, but I'm still disgusted by it.

    new rear shocks

I found a rear shock with 7.5x1.75 which is the exact match. It is the 2020 Fox Factory Float DPS EVOL. Even if this a newer shock, will it fit on to my 2006 SJ?
