    Is this a 2019 Stache 7?

    I'm thinking about buying a used 2019 Stache 7.

Is this the 2019 Stache 7? It's hard to tell if it's that dark blood red based on the pictures (The only available color for 2019 I think).

The reason why I don't know is because the frame looks slightly different. The website: https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/b...che-7/p/23109/

Has no tube going from the seat tube to the top tube. This one does have it or some reason though, which is od. When I search google images, I see mostly pictures without that piece but I did find a few images with that piece. Anyone have any knowledge about this?

Odd that the chain stay isnt high and above the chain. Looks to attach directly to the bottom bracket.

Edit. Nvm, the image is flipped.

It looks like the frame only option for 2019 was in black.

    Good catch: https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/b...meset/p/22056/

The thing is, it still doesn't have the frame piece that I am talking about. I attached an image with what I'm talking about.

I think that strut exists on XL frames, but not S, M, or L.

Good point. I think supposedly this is a L frame. Maybe the person is mistaken?

I just looked on another site and yes, it appears the size large has that brace, as well.

I can confirm, at least on the stache 5, the large frame has that extra piece.

It looks to me like a 2018 model size L (19.5"). What drivetrain does it have? If it is Shimano SLX 11 speed then it is a 2018. If it is Sram NX 12 speed then something happened to the frame and it is a warranty replacement. Unless he bought the frame only option.

You are dead on! It's a warranty replaced frame. So it's a 2018 with the frame replaced?

    Here is the listing:

No it's a 2019 wth a 2019 warranty frame. It will only say Stache on the top tube instead of Stache 7. The frame only option for 2019 is a Matte back frame like the 2018 with the difference being the above mentioned decal. I personally prefer the Matte black over the Cobra Blood. I have a 2018 and a buddy has a 2019. The Cobra Blood limits you options for adding colored components as nothing goes with it except black.

Understood. Would you recommend staying away from a Bike like this where the frames been replaced, or no?

It shouldn't be a problem at all. I believe that the owner is a member here on the forum. The description sounds a lot like this one. https://forums.mtbr.com/26-27-5-29-p...y-1100914.html
I don't know what your budget is but new ones are on closeout for $2199 if you are worried and want a warranty.

Thanks for the help guys. I purchased the bike this morning. For how big it is, I can't believe how light this thing is. I'm excited to try it out and put it through it's paces.

You can ask for invoice, check serial #.
Many buy in 2019 pretend it is that year but it was an unsold so go to their site look at 2018, 2017 you might find the answer. It might be a poor copy. Not the 2019 that we have in Canada.

Call Trek, give em the serial # and they can give a definitive answer.
