    722 and why it's run.

    Hi MTBR crew

After a few queries just thought I'd share what Yetifan is and why I've run it since 2001.

Just wanted to say thanks for all my visitors(500-1500 a day), forum users and customers since 2001.

I've had good fun making the site, and appreciate every bike you have sent in, and story you have told me, I love seeing where other people ride.

I made the site out of a love for Yeti bikes, not for any other reason. I loved the history the heritage and the way they push innovations and new tech.

As you know, the site is not a business, it's got no 'targets' or 'budget'.

Sadly the running costs are pretty high, and the man hours involved are massive. I have a proper day job and fit Yetifan around that. I've missed out on a lot of life stuff for the site, but it is worth it.

The cool thing about Yetifan is its not corporate, it's not marketing. It's just a love for Yeti. I've seen people come and go, who stamp about saying they love Yeti, get featured and tweeted about, but who ultimately end up equally loving Santa Cruz, or another big bike brand(fair enough, some others do good stuff). What I'm trying to say, is nobody pays me to love Yeti, nobody from Yeti ever said hey can you promote us, or make this look cool.

The site is funded by the store, it is a great opportunity I was given back in 06/07 by Evolution to keep the site online and free for all. (Many other porn site are expensive to join!) Silverfish have kept this going.

Buying from my store keeps yetifan online, it keeps the non corporate angle, a place for people with passion or an interest to check out actual real bikes.

I like to think the people at Yeti are still in the same frame of mind as me, they love bikes, make amazing ones, and that's just it.

    Other stores are available

The site had cost around £2500-3000 in the past 2 years if you include the computer that powers it, the Internet speed I need to upload it, extra storage, the huge loss the calendars make me( but they look cool so it's ok!) the fuel and personal expenses it costs me to organise the tribemeet, the new store software, the stickers I give away.

Similar to what Parker(founder of Yeti) once said, we can't afford it, but we do it anyway.

    Keep sending this pictures guys!!
