    tapered stearer in a non tapered 575

    can it be done? with cane creek or hope lower cups? if so any pictures or info on geometry?

    Sure it can , you press out the taper steerer tube and machine a spacer and install a straight steerer in and there you go .

    I would always make the straight steerer tube I needed , but now you can buy the tube if you can not machine one .


    I have done many of these for guys .

    No need to modify your fork. almost all headset companies make a head set that will work. here are a couple from Cane Creek and Chris King.

    2011-2012
    Cane creek- EC34 Top w/ EC49 CONVERSION BOTTOM
    Chris king- 34/49 with DEVO base plate

    2013-2014
    Cane creek- TAPERED CONVERSION ZS44|ZS56/30
    Chris king- 44/56 with DEVO base plate

    sorry read that backwards. No you can not put a tapered fork on a 575 that has a straight 1 1/8 head tube.
