    Shock for ASX

We are getting a asx for my son for trail riding and freeriding
We are thinking of going with a fox 36 van R

We are wondering the difference in riding between the fox DHX 5 and the DHX 5 air
Is anyone has experience those two

    thanks for your help

from my experience air shocks tend to be more stiff at the beginning, then blow through the travel faaaast and become very progressive at the end. I find this nice for trail riding - really plush ride.
Coil IMO feels more stiff esp. in the middle of the travel - which inspires more confidence on jumps (esp. landings). At the same time coil seems to be more sensitive to small bumps.

Plus DHX Air has quite a lot of bad press...
    Passion beyond reason!
