SB95a---Has rear triangle always been Carbon???

I ask this as I'm getting ready to get ready to buy one.

I recently did some inquiry at my LBS about the new Comps coming out and the true difference between them and the Enduro.

    I posed the question:

Is the better suspension and Carbon triangle worth the extra $1,000??

The suspension is better, prolly not worth $1k, but the triangle is ALUMINUM! So, I would go with the Comp.

They had one in stock, I believe a 2012 or 2013 and it did in fact have an ALUMINUM rear triangle. Full on Enduro build, Kashmina and all, but no carbon triangle. He even pointed out the welds.

    My 2 questions---
Is the carbon triangle NEW for 2014?
If so, how in the hell is the price the same if the older ones were all aluminum??

Yes, carbon rear triangle is new.

    No idea on the pricing.

There is benefit in having a carbon rear triangle though.
    - it has somewhat more tire clearance - so you could more easily phit phatter tyres.
    - it is lighter - "Less un-sprung weight" can let the rear suspension be more active. How much this bears out vs wheel weight I have no idea.

    Got it! Thanks!

Still curious if anyone has any info on the pricing.
