    SB66 with X-12

    Hi

I am a bit ticked off about finding information about the Chip system and drop outs on our SB66 frames.

I am considering changing wheels to either Syntace or Fulcrum and still keep a 12mm rear axle. How can I convert my chip to x-12?

But I think the Syntace system is NOT compatible with the Shimano set up.

Mahrous, what is the hating about the chip system?

I do not think that the bike(s) can be converted unless you fabricate replacement chips that implement the syntace setup.

I can not imagine a way it would be worth the effort.

    Hi guys
I am sporting the stock X1600 wheels from the Enduro Plus build with a 142x12mm drop outs installed.

I was close to buying the Fulcrum Red Metal wheels and I am not interested in going 'back' to QR system and lose a bit of rigidity.
The Fulcrum are available in X-12 and QR.
What does that mean? Can I use the Fulcrum with my stock 12mm thru axle? Or do I need to change anything?

You can use those wheels on the non-Syntace setup, they're still 142mm wide with 12mm axle.

It's the axle that must match the frame dropouts, the hubs are cross compatible.

Quoted for truth. Any 142x12 rear hub (which any hub designated X-12) is compatible.
