SB-95 w/ modded Fox 36 fork ... geo ?
I have a modded Fox 36 which I'd like to use for a SB-95 build.
It's actually ~ 150mm of travel sagged (160mm static)
I realize that a 140mm fork is s'pose to be the max for the SB-95.
I plugged the numbers into a geo calculator. The green box on the left shows a medium SB-95 w/ a 140mm fork. The pink box on the right shows the geometry changes if you use a 160mm fork.
Too slack for climbing? BB too high? etc...
Guess I could always get an angleset and make it steeper if too much a chopper.
So has anyone put a fork longer than 140mm on their SB-95?
EDIT - The modded fork is actually closer to 150mm:
I have my 95 at 145 ( should have been 150 but I shorted myself ) I will alter it to 150...next time in .
I really like the bike slacker and more importantly the BB and handle bar height , the bike is really starting to fit me correctly.
It climbs just the same ( now Im long and tall so I really don't have problem climbing )
I know Colin has his 95 at 150 and loves it also.
Those numbers you have for a 160mm fork are just exactly what my Enduro was to a tee and I really liked that geo on a bike , I could ride that thing anywhere ( except it was a 26er so rodie riding was really really a nard thing to do ) .
Im sure I will run my bike at 160 soon
Thanks for the reply.
It'll climb just like my Nomad. : )
