SB 66 for Leadville Good or Bad Idea

What do you guys think of riding an aluminum 27lb 1x10 SB66 for the leadville 100. I did it last year on a Yeti carbon ASR. It was about 4lbs lighter and 2x10. I just blew my shock out on the ASR so trying to come up with a new plan and not much time left.

I'd say go for it. What are you build specs to get the aluminum build to 27lbs?

I guess be prepared to walk, particularly on the return leg. Unless you have quads of steel.

Its a XT race build that i swapped to 1x10 with new race face wide narrow ring and crest wheels for this race only to save weight.

Thanks to the great folks at Fox I will be on my ASR Carbon again this year. I received a brand new Float rear shock yesterday. Great fast customer service. Now I can have the RP23 as a backup.
