    Question: Yeti sb95c

Shredded my rear derailleur on a rock (JUST CLIMBING ALONE). The hanger did not break and the derailleur spun upwards hitting the top of the seat stay, denting it. It is in at the shop waiting for an answer to see if it is ride able or not. The CF around the axle mount is frayed. I thought the hanger was suppose to break and not spin upwards and mess the frame. Should this be covered under warranty? If not, how much will a rear triangle set me back? This is my first yeti and I love the bike.

    Thanks.

You should call Yeti to find out the crash-rep cost, if the LBS doesn't tell you quickly.

I'd expect it to be in the category of "hundreds of dollars" though, somewhere.

Wacky damage, sorry to hear it.

Sounds like the RD wasn't torqued to Shimano's (if you are running a Shimano RD) spec and it came loose. Shimano specs the torque on the RD @ 8-10 Nm (70-86 in. lbs.)

    Who built the bike up?

I bought the bike in denver, but live in the springs, so I took it to the local yeti dealer. They should give me an answer today. Thanks for the help.

Still waiting on an answer from yeti. How long does it usually take for a warranty response?

Finally, got the bike back yesterday. Props to Brian and the crew at PRO CYCLING in COS and YETI for covering the rear triangle under warranty.
