    PUSH'd RP23 worthwhile for an '09 575 - or new Kashima RP23?

190lb rider experienced on a Large 2009 Yeti 575 with factory-supplied Fox RP23 ProPedal rear air shock and a 2012 Fox 32 Float RLC 15QR fork.

The front end feels solid and plush but I have never been thrilled with the rear suspension - if I want it to feel responsive I add air (~25% sag) but it gets harsh over small bumps and if I want to be plush (30%+ sag) the rear is very soft, especially when I get out of the saddle.

I would gladly spend $2XX on the PUSH RP23 custom tuning rebuild or a new RP23 Kashima if either would bring the rear suspension on my 575 up to modern standards.

Does anyone have experience with either upgrade?

I had my non kashima rp23 pushed on my 09 575. Had big hit kit installed also...IMHO money well spent..

I had my RP23 PUSHed with a big hit kit and it totally transformed the rear suspension. Granted, I am only 170, but they can tune it to your weight and riding style.

The new kashima RP23 will be in the same boat as your current shock and will need to be modified to see a change in the 575 suspension.

    Good luck,

PS I have been on this shock for more than 2 years and it is still working great!

I dont have a yeti or any experience with push but I have an Avalanche'd fox shock and I can tell you that any "custom" tune with blow MOST of the generically tuned, stock shocks on the market. Push > stock kashima all day IMO

The PUSH custom tuned shock will be a far better product than a new fox product.

+1 for getting it PUSH'd! You get a custom service tailored to you.

Kashima just seems like a Novelty. There is an Kashima RP23 hanging on my wifes frame, and honestly it just looks cool - I can't tell or see any difference (having ridden her bike).

Kashima is nothing more than a coating - they use a form of it for factory motocross bikes too. I would be really shocked if you could tell a bit of difference.
