    Old school asr-sl question

Here's my ASR-SL frame I just won on eBay for $245! The guy I bought it from didn't know much about it, can anyone tell me the year this was made? It came stock with the progressive suspension 5th element. I was thinking about giving it a new paint job, upgrading the float and maybe even starting a build thread if anyone cares to follow along!

Don't know the exact year but is pre 2007. 2 years ago I had my 2007 frame painted, replaced all the pivot points and bearings, had the RP23 and fork pushed. I ride it 2 to 4 times a week and love it. Still my go to bike for quick fun rides.

Nice pics! I have a SRAM XX front d and grip shifts i'm going to put on them, and I also have an X9 rear d and crankset from my other bike. Still in need of a good lightweight cassette to go with, but the one im looking at is around $200( sram cg-1099). Any cheaper suggestions? My goal is to keep it light

Check the serial number, probably under the BB. First number will indicate which year it was built. My AS-R starts with 8 - so 2008 model.
