If they still have the same size and color for sale they'll credit you the diff. Went through this a couple years back with my asr7. Good company to deal with.

So I wonder what the take rate is on the $300 Kashima/paint upgrade?

    Interesting...
Ok, so I am in the market for a new mtb bike - and I like Yeti. Are these deals at Competitive Cyclist and Dept of Goods legit? Are they reputable vendors? The $799 deal at CC says the original price was $1800. That seems like a huge savings. Dept of goods has frames with the same deal. I am familiar with CC, but not DOG.

    Thanks Mates.

They are the same store, different websites, along with Chainlove and Steep and Cheap and probably a few others. Yes, reputable. Every dealing I have had with any of those websites has been outstanding. I picked up my ASR5 a couple weeks ago for $999, then was refunded the $200 when they dropped the price. It's a great bike.

Thanks for sharing that pic, smithcreek. I was curious what the "blue" medium looked like in sunlight, rather than studio lighting. It's the only color in med left, and I previously recommended it to someone else when there were more color options like white and that sweet looking slate ano.

DOG is the same company at CC. Both are owned by Back Country.
DOG appears to be their clearance house.

Oddly, while DoG, Chainlove, and CC are owned by the same company, you can't get credits across the two. Or at least I couldn't.

I bought my ASR-5 w/Kashima (only version they had in small) and bought a Fox 32 Float 120 RLC with it. The fork was listed for $750 but was on sale with the frame for $525.

A few weeks later, with the fork still in the box in my basement, I saw the same fork in the Chainlove history for $375. I watched Chainlove for a few days and caught it. I immediately hopped on CC's live chat and asked if they could simply give me a credit for the difference. They said they couldn't so I bought the $375 fork and returned the $525 fork. Seems like a model of inefficiency but I complied
I live with fear and danger every day. And on the weekends she lets me go mountain biking.

It's like a game with all those rules they have, unable to match the chainlove site, despite talking with them when the item is currently live.

Looks like they're down to 15 of those blue M frames, 2 white XL, and 4 black/turq XL. They're quickly disappearing. They're only 1/2 a lb heavier than the ASR5c, sharing the same carbon rear triangle.

That is purty! Is the 2012 ASR5 a 26er or 29er frame? I can't seem to find this info.

but you can't expect vendors to match Chainlove limited blow outs.

26". I would have been happy with any of the colors they came in. Orange, black or this blue would have been at the top of the list, so I was happy they had a blue on in L when I ordered. Just got done with a two hour ride and buying this bike is the best mountain biking decision I've made.

I'm still receiving parts for my build. I love the slate gray. the pictures don't do it justice. I tried convincing myself to go turquoise, and i just couldn't do it.
