Just got back from 1st trail ride of the year and 1st ever on my ASR-5....

and I guess I'll start by saying WOW- very nice. Granted I am out of shape- as I seem to be every spring just can't drag my ass to the gym enough all winter.

Anyways this bike seems to be great at the exact thing I bought it for- climbing. So much more efficient than my old 35# 6 inch travel bike. It also seems to roll much faster. Downhill corners I never really had to brake for - well on this ride I was overshooting them and realized I had to start braking a bit more.

I also love the way the rear shock seems to get stiffer the deeper into the travel it goes. The ride felt supple without ever bottoming out.

i'll give it a big thumbs up as I can only imagine the ride will get better as my fitness level increases.
