    Going Tubeless on 2011 575

I have a 2011 575 Race build with X1600 rims and Nobby Nic tires. Has anyone converted this to a tubeless setup? I see on the DT Swiss website they make a tubless kit for those rims. Im not sure if I should use that kit or a Stans kit? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've got the '11 but with the XR400s, went with the Stans 21mm with Ra/Ra TR/SS, no issues.

I have the same X1600 wheels on my '11 575 and just made the tubeless conversion yesterday. I opted for only using the Stans 21 mm yellow tape wrapped twice around each rim, some american classic valves, and then Stans sealant. I didnt want to have to use the Stans valve strips. The install was one of the easiest things Ive done to the bike yet.. I really recommend the method i went with. The tires inflated immediately with only a floor pump and not even having to remove the valve cores.

Tip though when doing it this way.. I put the tape on and then mounted and inflated the tire with a normal tube. I did this mainly to fully press in the tape, but also to seat the beads. Then, I deflated the tube and unseated only one side of the tire (leaving the other bead still seated), installed the valve, put the sealant in, and was good to go. After doing it that way, the tire started pumping up just like there was a tube in it.
