    Hi upmtnsinbreck!

The idea of posting a thread like this also crossed my mind after our "talk"... would be interesting to see what the tribe says.

    My bike remains "Unnamed"

    Cheers,
    Cris

A friend named my old Dabomb Molotov "Molly" which pleased my wife less than somewhat considering that happened to be the name of the girlfriend I had prior to dating her...

(He also named his Turner DHR "Kathleen" for obvious reasons)

The newest lady to come to live at my house is an 02 model AS-R who the previous owner (a girl) assures me is female.

What other name could I possibly give her than "Juliette" (dually-Yeti) and given that she's turquoise with black bits (fork, rims and swingarm) it also has some resonance to me being a lover of the film "Trois Coleurs Bleu" starring the stunning brunette Juliette Binoche...

Sometimes a name just feels right.

I don't name my bike. It reflects some closeness, I suppose. Then again, maybe I'm not as insane as some of you

I've never named a bike, car, or motorcycle, though I've had great relationships with all of them. It just never really occurred to me to give them a name other than what they were. ie The Yeti, the Singlespeed, the Mini, the GSX-R etc...

This comes from a guy who named his cat "Miss Kitty" <-- no imagination, I guess.

    Yeti 575: Big Peggy
    Novara SS: Big Raina
    Scott road bike: Juicy Peaches

    Bikes in storage:
Trek 930 or something like that: Big Deb
Really old Bridgestone: Big Trailer Trash *****

I had a SpecialED SS that I named Big Steph.

If I ever get another bike (preferably an ASX, RFX, or maybe a NORCO ), more than likely I'm naming it Big Rosa or Big ****buster.

I have my daughter's name on my bike. I wouldn't say it's the bike's name.

Mine's name is Black Betty- from the 80's song. Fun to sing that line during the downhill thoughtless trance sections. More or less sing the woah part then a real fast black betty.

Black 575- the name fits her perfect!!!

    Songs are good...

My previous Marin was called Mary (Wind Cries Mary - Jimi Hendrix)
My black Rocky Mountain Blizzard is Cheree (Cheree - Suicide (the best song of all time))
and My Intense Uzzi is Suzi (Suzi Q - CCR)

OK, after riding a particularly rocky trail (we calls them rocks "soil samples" around here) I've got a name for my Yeti:

    RocksAnn

    Now imagine Sting singing this:
"RocksAnn. You don't have to put on the red fork. RocksAnn. You don't have to throw my body off the trail..."

    The Mistress

My wife calls mine "the mistress" since I'm always out with her

My wife's the only one that won't give me a funny look when I say I was 'riding my mistress'

    Nashbar SS = "Le Flame"
'04 Cove Stiffee hardtail = "Stiffee" No need to nickname this one
