    Difference between a 2011 and 2012 ASR-5 Carbon?

I may have found my bike but I want to ensure I understand what I'm getting.

What did Yeti change with the ASR-5 Carbon from model year 2011 to 2012? I'm a bit confused with some pictures I've seen.

Visibly, it looks like they added the large gusset between the seat tube and top tube where the linkage attaches. The 2011 I'm looking at has the linkage attached directly to the top tube.

However, looking at some other pictures of 2011, I see that large gusset. When did that get added?

Looking further, I see some bikes that are captioned as 2010s that have the gusset as well! Did they drop the gusset for just a short period? Something seems fishy.

Any other differences between the model years? Any reliability issues? Known flaws?

It has a Fox Float RP23. Any problems with that?

Think you are looking at different sizes. No gusset on the small. Don't believe there are any changes besides color scheme and perhaps kashima on shock.

Oh my God I'm an idiot. Yes, it's a small and no, I didn't realize smalls didn't have the gusset. Hmm...I wonder what the small frame actually weighs. Under 4.75 lbs?

Can't help you on weight of a small. My large with collar was about 5.2. I'd say it'll be under 5, but under 4.75 might be a bit of wishful thinking.

I'm having a lot of trouble resisting this deal. A 2011 ASR-5C frame, in very good condition, for $1500. I can pick up a brand new 2012 for $2000 but the kicker with the '11 is the color. It's white and that's my absolute favorite. They didn't make the white in carbon in 2012 so this may be the perfect frame for me.

I may be joining the tribe soon!

Some good deals at competitive cyclist. For 400 more you could have new, plus the warranty. Also alloy version for about 1000. I'd definitely go new - warranty alone is worth it. But if it has to be white...
