    ASR-C XC forks 100mm or 120mm

    Hi

I've just got a ASR-C at a blow out price in the UK, want to use it as a fast trail bike.

Thinking of going 120mm for the slacker head angle, is this the right way to go or would i enjoy the ride more using 100mm?

    Cheers Phil

Hey Phil! I've used to have an aluminum ASR that I ran at 100mm and 120mm. I've got an ASRc now and run it at 120mm. I don't think I'd enjoy riding at 100mm as much.

I have an ASR-C that I initially had a Fox F32 RLC 100mm fork on it. I switched it out last year for a 120mm with a remote lock-out switch and love it. The 120mm I can ride more aggresive and also for longer rides without getting worn out/beat up feeling and if I need a stiffer ride for climbs or sprints in XC racing it's super easy to lock it out with the remote switch. One thing that did take some tinkering with when I switched was getting the stem length and stack height optimized because the 120mm sits higher, so initially when I set it up with the same settings as my 100mm I was washing out the front end cause my center of gravity was up too high. But once I got the stem height/angle slammed pretty aggresive it actually put me in a more aggresive stance and I could really dig deep into turns more than I ever could with the 100mm fork.
