Another new member to the Yeti 575 25th anniversary club

    yep, its me.

got the frame/forks yesterday, now need to build it up using the bits I have left over from weightweenieing other bikes.

no doubt this has been asked before but has anyone done a list of the people and locations of the 249 frames? (mine was a warranty replacement for the original owner so there is at least one dead frame).

... and ofcourse the obligatory piccy otherwsie it didn't happen.

A friend of mine had one and it too was replaced with another through warranty (that makes two of them of the 249). His was a large as well and was from Guelph Ontario Canada. I would've bought it if it was a medium - and probably would've hung it on the wall eventually.

^^^ do you know where it failed? I'm sure it said on the paperwork I have the fault - be interesting to see if it is the same.

Will post some photos as I go along - I wasn't planning on buying many parts (trying to re-use the ones I have) but I have seen one with yellow rims that looks fab, unfortunately what has been seen cannot be unseen.

It had cracked along a weld between the Main pivot and bottom bracket. But bare in mind, my bud is a bit of a Clydesdale (>200lbs) and rode a lot of very technical trails. He sold it for a more burly bike.

The 575 is a great bike; very fun and nimble, and forgiving when you find yourself tracking through unexpected technical trails . I have a 2013 575 (from a 2011) and love it.

Also, if I may offer you any advise to better the performance of the bike - take off the stock turq fork and put on a Fox 34 or RS Pike, and throw on a wheelset with 12mm rear thru-axle and has wide rims such as with a 21 or 23mm inner width.
