    Smile 575/scenery porn

This was at the top of Mt. Pinos in Los Padres National Forest today (southern california). Info on the ride here.

Brief specs on the bike - pike u-turn air, juicy sevens, dt swiss 4.1 rims on hope bulbs, some thomson stuff, truvativ, beaters.

Haven't seen much from you on this board in a while. I guess you have been hanging out on that "other MTB" forum.

Man I really wanted to do that ride. I made plans with some friends to go hiking today before I new that ride was planned. Oh well, maybe next time.

Sorry man. My summer is so jacked. I am booked almost every weekend through the first weekend October. Anniversary weekend trip to Inverness (north of SF), week long fishing trip to Mexico with my dad, weekend trip to Arrowhead with friends, two backpacking trip, and finally a trip to Mammoth for some friggen riding. I might have one weekend in there somewhere. Cool thing is my wife has promised to ride half day in Mammoth and we are doing the motorcycle safety training program.

    Have fun next weekend.

Here's a couple of mine. First is in Scotland looking over the Dee valley. The second is on Snowdon, looking down Cwn Hetiau. Apparently this means Valley of the Hats in Welsh as the Victorian gents took the funicular up and then got their top hats blown off admiring the view. The locals would then collect the hats from the valley floor and flog them on.

How did you get that bike up there with no mud on it? I read a nice article in Singletrack on Snowdon, sounds like a great place to ride. I like how they test bikes and parts in that publication, they always looks beat to pieces and covered with mud so you know they did a REAL test. And every ride seems to end (or begin) at a pub! Thanks for sending these.

Not a great pic, but a pseudo action Yeti pic regardless. I took most of the pics, only ended up in a couple.

To have dust you've got to have dry dirt. I haven't yet found any of that mythical substance in either Scotland or Wales! In the first pic the temp was about -5 centigrade so the mud was still frozen!

What? You didn't get a Yeti girl with your 575? You were ripped off dude! Get your money back and get a Moto-Lite. I heard those bikes come with an attitude... hehe... Just kidding of course... They stopped the Yeti Girl program in 2006. These days, you get a neoprene chainstay cover with the Yeti logo instead with your new 575.

The Yeti girl is the one and only rocknrollbarbie... Here she is relaxing at mid-trail yesterday (at around 8000 feet)... The picnic table and chairs must have been choppered in by fire crews as there is no way to get to where we were other than singletrack...

Can't compare with the mountain scenery but here's where I've been riding, Binder Lake. Sunsets have been great lately.
