    575 Frame Change between 08 & 09

I am looking to buy my first full suspension bike and am very interested in the Yeti 575 as it looks like an awesome ride!

I am a beginner, but my rides consist of aggressive xc/all mountain in SoCal.

Looking at some used 575s, I have noticed that the '08 frame has a weld in the top tube at the tie in point of the shock, while the '09 and newer frames have a continuous top tube. The continuous top tube looks like a stronger design, but maybe it's just cosmetic.

    Opinions?

Are there other upgrades would warrant choosing a newer model over the '08? Since this is my first full sus. bike, I was thinking to get a used bike rather than dropping a huge chunk of change on a brand new bike.

Welds are just as strong or stronger than the parent material when done correctly. Either will work.

    08 and 09 575's are identical.

Yeah, its the '07 and older that had the welded knuckle shock mount type thing. I have an '08 which I use for a bit of everything, love it!

Okay, thanks. The bike I saw for sale must have been an '07 or older. Anyways, I prefer the '08 and newer frame.
