This is more or less my dream build. I hope to get yeti 4x frame later towards this year (provided I find 2nd hand). I like this colour scheme, it would match my 303

    Sweet ride

    My new 2009 Yeti 4X.

I made some decals for the pike. Black with turquoise outline and a little CO flag on the back.

I will post a build list when the new parts come in.
    New parts to include:
    2009 Mavic Deetrax
    Maxxis holy rollers
FSA gravity light crankset w/ e13 36 tooth ring
    Sunline v-one OS bar 31.8mm
    Sunline v-one stem 31.8mm clamp

I have yet to ride it as there is about 1 foot of fresh snow out there but the second it melts I am out there.
So excited to ride this beast.

If the retail is really 2500 this year sadly I may never be able to get another 4X.

How does it ride with the Fox 36 Talas? Are you riding that fork only in the 4" setting?

I am thinking of picking of the 4x frame and running the Talas 36 (4 & 5" settings only).

Woah, just chiming in on the other thread and say this one... not sure if you have checked back in here in the last few months, but in case you do...

Bike rides NICE with the Talas, when I rode it I kept it in the 100mm setting for nearly everything. Occasionally on really steep tracks (Angel Fire 4X) I'd run it at 130 to give it a bit slacker head angle. This bike is now loaned indefinitely to a team mate, who is the dad of one of the kids on the team, and he runs it at 130mm exclusively. He's a bit timid on the bike and the longer travel mellows out the snappy handling for him a touch. Here's the older one (pictures got moved from before):

    [/QUOTE]

My newer 2008 4X I run a 36 Float with the travel reduced to 100mm all the time, it's AWESOME and actually WAY snappier than the Talas at 100mm, I think the ride height overall is lower.
The older I get, the faster I was.

    Punch it, Chewie.
