    3m tape removal.

Yeti clan - I have never dealt with 3m tape for frame protection.

My question is can it be easily removed with out damaging or leaving residue on specifically a sb66C frame?

    thanks

In case you don't have the 3M tape yet, I bought the Helicopter Tape (ISC Helicopter-OG Surface Guard Tape (8 mil Outdoor Grade): 4 in. x 12 ft.) and it works great.
It's pretty easy to remove it and leaves no residue. Only "issue" is that it gives a glossy finish to my matte SB66C frame...

For matte finishes, check out the stuff at frameskins.com. It's pricey for their complete kits, but you can buy smaller patches to just hit the cable rub spots.

The 3M tape comes of easily with a heat gun, if the temp is just right the glue pulls with it. Can't speak for the helicopter tape, as I've never used it.
Word of caution with the heat gun, if you haven't used one before you must be careful as you could easily damage the finish with too much heat ! Once you get it started on one end you work the heat gun ahead of the Pull, also it comes off easier and cleaner if you pull at a sharper angle.

More than enough heat. You probably won't have to use it on the hot setting. I doubt you will need the dryer regardless if the tape hasn't been on there more than 6 months an md baked in the sun constantly. The stuff I have removed peeled off in perfect sheets glue in tact
