    2012 Yeti Tribe Gathering

Did anyone attend the 2012 Yeti Tribe Gathering? Yeti guys are really good at uploading pics/videos after a major event. Did not see any on their site so was wondering if anyone from the forum had some to share. Plan to go next year !!

It rained a LOT this year at Tribe so I imagine the crew from Yeti didn't shoot as many photos and videos as they normally do. Was still an awesome time though!

So is it true that beer flows like water at the Tribe Gathering? When do you ride the trails then?

haha, yeah they pretty much have several kegs of a local CO brew on tap for the weekend and as if anyone needs more than that one of the Yeti employees(I won't name names) has the legendary muffler of whiskey being passed around. The muffler is literally a flask that is the size and shape of a muffler and probably has like a gallon of whiskey in it. My head hurts thinking about how I felt Sunday morning. Anyway, back to your original question; most everyone arrives Fri afternoon to the site and does there own thing ride wise and then everyone eats and drinks(lightly, well some more than others) on Fri night and then Sat is the big organized group ride that's typically 30-40mi. Sat night is when most of the heavier drinking occurs. Sunday very few get out and ride, most pack it up after breakfast and head home.

Rumor is next year is possibly going to be in Telluride. We'll see, I'll definately be back where ever it is.

Going by the Bios of Yeti employees I am guessing HOOG to be the one handing out the extra liquor .

Did you have to bring you own bike to the Gathering? It must be quite an elaborate affair packing up the YETI and getting it transported over for a 2 day ride...

Nah, Hoog is usually pretty mellow with his wife and kids there with him.

It's really not that big a deal to travel with the bike. I fly quite often with it and have a case that it takes maybe 20mins of minor disassembly to pack it up.

Shoot an email to the Yeti demo crew....they can hook you up with a ride. Just be sure to ask as soon as you have a ticket...or before.

Yep, good advice on asking for a demo, they bring out a big fleet and I'd estimate probably 80-90% of the riders are from around CO area so they have their own bikes with them. Getting a demo if you request one early enough shouldn't be too tough.

Ha! Nothing like being shuttled to the start of a 7 mile climb!! Whatever, it is called the "epic ride." This was my third gathering, and can't wait for more. The people are awesome, the Yeti crew are awesome, the locale is awesome, the beer is awesome, the riding is awesome. Seems to always be an issue with breakfast. JK. Who cares. My advice to any newbies... Get with a local. We got nailed by a sudden lightening storm once we hit the top of the Grand Traverse trail. Epic to the bone. Later that night I was talking to a local Yeti guy who said that once the shuttle dropped them off, they burned down the hill, took the Gondola up, bombed the downhills, and when we were getting nailed with rain... they were at his crib watching Rambo. Nothing like seeing Graves peek his head out of his tent in the morning, not quite sure what happened the night before. We all ride Yeti's because we are the coolest people on two wheels. Get your butts to the next Tribe!! We all got personalized stickers this year too!!

So that is what it takes to get stickers from Yeti . My self addressed envelope must be sitting on someone's desk (or in the trash.. Who knows) for couple of months now...

Good to know we can expect new bike(s) from Yeti in 2013. Wonder why they did not show them at eurobike 2012
