08 575: Does the Specialized water bottle cage fit?

I bought the Specialzed Rib Cage Pro MTB for my 08 575 size medium but when I mounted it it looked like a very tight fit - it looked as if the rear shock would touch it.

Does anyone have experience with this water bottle cage fit

I have not had any luck even using a short water bottle. I'm not happy about this at all since my Niterider classic is now essentially useless. I saw the Specialized cage the other day and I don't think it will work any better than a regular one. A side entry cage might. Stupid, stupid design.

On my 05 575 I had a really cheap and ugly water bottle cage with a side entry which worked perfect.

Anyone know some decent cages with side entry?

    Not for an MTB.

Invest in a Camelback and ditch the cage.

I already have a camelback but would prefer to put energy drink into a bottle instead of my camelback

    Again,
it doesn't solve my battery problem with the light. I use a camel back

I found a side entry cage at my LBS---have no idea of the brand. I took my bike up there and bolted them on until I found the right one.

I used a Profile Stryke cage and 2 presta valve nuts under the back bolt to tilt the cage slightly. I'm able to get a small bottle in/out easily. And a large bottle but it's a little tight. I thought maybe the bottles might hit the frame with the tilt of the cage...but not even in the roughest of terrain, it's just fine.

    I bought a cheap Nashbar

    S5000374

    S5000375

BTW it is a large frame. It is a little tight to get to the Propedal lever but it is doable.
