    What'd you win this year?

Anyone win any cool looking trophies or anything this season?

I made my first two podiums this year. Got a pint glass for 3rd place in the local series championship and a cool homemade trophy for 3rd in another local benefit race.

    How bout you guys?

    Things I won.

Knog Frog Lights (draw prize at local CX race)
$20 lbs gift certificate (3rd overall at local XC race)
    Ryders glasses (same as above)
Cheerios, yes the cereal. (9h race, tag team)
Hammer HEED (same as above / draw prize)
Crankskinz (24h race, 7-10 man team)
A few medallions - one had a cool sprocket shape.
When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.

I won a cool jersey at nationals. Since it was cat 3, there's no stars or stripes, but still fun.

    Hmm... Lets see.

    A coffee cup
    2 Buffs
    1 t-shirt 3 sizes too big
    A Towel

That sort of sums up why I have stepped up my training this winter, I can`t exactly brag that I am in it for the money.

Disclaimer. I now sell bicycles and bicycle tyres.

I've gotten some cool swag including gloves, a bike computer, a Cannondale jersey, a Camelback MULE, a left over race t-shirt from a 12 hour race, a whole box of powerbars, a slew of water bottles, tire irons, a keychain made of chain links, a spare tube, and some other stuff. I've also gotten some junk, but won't complain.

Everyone remember to thank and support the race sponsors who provide swag to podium finishers. The last race, the 7th in my state series, didn't have a sponsor and some people were upset--so we should all appreciate it when we get cool stuff and remember the sponsors help make races possible.

That Bikes for Tots trophy is reminiscent of the homemade trophies from Paul's Dirty Enduro, which are creative and different every year. I won one of those this year (my 4th one, but my first 1st), and also a Squeezer road sign trophy for 3rd in my age group.

I also won a spin bike at Paul's Dirt Enduro. It is now in the school weight room.

    Good year.

I twice ended up with free burritos from Taco del Sol. I also won a growler of beer and some sweet Surly schwag at Singlespeed Montana competition. The best thing was the Surly wool cycling cap.

I almost forgot about my cookie! I won a big cookie (r = ~10cm) at the Substanceprojects half-marathon MTB race in the Ganaraska, and it was timely, as my kids were starting to lose it. I barely had the cookie in my hand long enough for the podium pictures when my 8 year old snatched it and divvied up with his siblings.

A set of green Ergon grips. I won a New Belgium short track. And it was the only race I entered this year make it a 100% for the year. I'm hopping to to do allot more next year and I'm not really expecting to do that well.

CA state jersey (do not have yet)
Few Kenda Cup West podium plates
Two massive trophies (2nd place for both) - they are as heavy as they look!:

    misty

I remember those days when I used to win things. I have a state champ jersey, series jersey, and a bunch of plastic thingies that are 3 years old now and tucked away in boxes. In the past 2 seasons I have been humbled by some amazing athletes!

In my switch to the long and stupid, I've won some experiences that I wouldn't trade for the world. In addition, with my weight loss courtesy of the Swine Flu following 24 hours of Moab, I might have a better chance to pick up some crap from my wall once again in 2010.

Congrats on the buckle Ruby. Maybe someday, I'll get into that silly race!
