UCI mandates watts per kilogram limit for road cycling

Does anyone else think this will be a playpen for sandbaggers? I wonder if this sort of crazy talk will migrate to MTB racing

It's really sad. I can see stock cars being made equal so that it is a test of a driver's ability. When the human is the engine, let them race to their best potential.

It's time for the cycling world to move away from the UCI.

They need to implant defibrillators to limit maximum heart rate. Maybe McLaren International can supply a common control unit like they do for F1.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

My guard was down since it wasn't 4/1...that is my excuse and I am sticking with it.

With what UCI pulls and "mandates", how is this too far fetched?

We already comply with a number of UCI rules like the limits on sock height and the number of grams of muesli you can eat at a pre-race breakfast. What's next? No training holidays in Tenerife?

Number of grams of muesli? This has got to be a joke... April Fools!
