New England Root 66 race 1 this Sunday

    Hop brook in middlebury, CT.
Just as an FYI it's Pre- registration only, something about exchanging money on park grounds being illegal.

I'm excited, running the scalpel 650B for its first race!

I wish the CAT 2 start time wasn't so many hours after the CAT 3 start time. Really wanted to race this but it's a good size drive already. Teammate and I were going to share the drive but just not doable time wise with the big time difference between CAT's. Videos I found online, it looks like a really good race. Oh well.

Anybody have a trail condition update?? Last year the conditions were great...usually this race is a muddy mess...

That was a fun race, even though I ended up walking a bit too much on those hills (on a SS)

I watched a couple videos of previous years races and I saw at least one hill that looked steepy and then some rocks at the top. Saw a lot of people walking that one and I'm sure the video doesn't do it justice either.

Right? I was on the SS, too... but with two tassles...

Great first race in too many years... and a bad choice of gearing. Should have run 32x18, I might not have blown up as quickly? Who knows...
