    Moving up?

EDIT: Re thought this a bit...I'm just changing Cats, others opinions don't really matter. Thanks if you chimed in.

There are several things that are wrong with your statement. (1) What makes you think these guys are sandbagging in a lower category? If they're Cat3 road racers, but new on the MTB, that's where they belong. (2) What is this "longer distance talent" that you speak of, and why do you think that you will be better at a longer distance than a shorter distance?

Sorry. My initial post just was a rant, my frustration with sandbaggers and also my lack of ability to overcome them, so I deleted it. I decided what the heck and am jumping into the next higher group. I'd rather be beat by guys who at least manned up and are in the proper Cat.

That's what I would do. No shame in being beat by better riders. But there is shame in beating riders in a class that you don't belong in. Good luck this season.

    Well played, old boy.

When I put in for my upgrade, I said "I'd rather get my teeth kicked in by pros than get another top 5 in the 1s. Thanks.". Upgrade approved, in person.

My first endurance event I did I went cat 3. I won my class by an hour and felt like I kissed my sister on the podium. However, no biggy because I have moved up to 2 and no longer win by an hour
