    Kid's Race Bike

I have a question for all the experts... I have a kids race team that I put together this year. It's been a blast and all the kids are getting stronger and more confident. Now I need to upgrade my son's bike to shave some weight. He's riding a stock Gary Fisher Advance. Solid bike but very heavy. I have everything I need to get it shaped up but I'm missing a crankset. What light, and reasonably priced, crankset would you recommend?

    Thanks

Shimano SLX crankarms are cheap and lighter than XT arms. Rings can be upgraded to something lighter.

Otherwise, Aerozine X-12's are light and around $240. They use an alu spindle so not as strong as SLX but plenty stiff for a kid.
