    How to find races?

I'm curious to find some races in the New England area for 2014. How does one go about looking for their first race/series?

Do more races usually show up closer to the season?

    Of course.

BikeReg also offers RSS feeds, so I just point my RSS reader to their "Mid-Atlantic" feed to check for any updates to my local area events. Almost every one of my 20+ mtb races I did this year were listed under BikeReg. One of our local promoters likes Active.com, and he listed his events there. Lastly, USAC lists a very small number of races.

Thanks, Eric. I'll set up an RSS feed widget on my desktop, in that case and keep my eyes peeled.

Yeah obviously everything will be listed at BikeReg like Eric said. For New England, we have 2 major race series - EFTA (EFTA Eastern Fat Tire Association - Home) and Root 66 (Root 66). EFTA already has their preliminary schedule up on the site and Root 66 is supposed to have theirs up soon. They will also all be on BikeReg, but not for a few more months at least. If you're looking for Endurance, there is also Wildcat 100, Hampshire 100, Whiteface 100k, and VT 50.

Yeah, I was looking at route 66 the other day, looks like fun!
