    Genghis Khan Mountain Bike Festival

The Genghis Khan MTB Festival in Inner Mongolia China will be the first ever mountain bike stage race in China, taking place from July 5 till 8 2007.

The race, covering 140 km over three days, will cross the vast and desolate grass lands of Inner Mongolia, tracing the prints of Genghis Khan, the biggest emperor in the world’s history!

Riders will experience all aspects of nomadic life and stay overnight in traditional Mongolian tents.

Less devoted and experienced bikers can rent bicycles and experience the beauty of the grasslands on their own paste, visit the Genghis Khan Imperial City and ride horses the Mongols rode.

The race will start and finish at the festival arena in Na Damu.

    - Upon arrival on Thursday July 5, participants will enjoy a traditional Mongolian Festival, with dancing, horse and wrestling shows.

    - The first stage on Friday July 6 will go from Na Damu to Menggu Hancheng (50 km).

    - The second stage on Saturday will start from Menggu Hancheng and arrive in a local Horde, a tent camp out there in the middle of nowhere (45 km).

    - On Sunday participants will leave the tent camp and race back to the final finish in Na Damu (45 km).

Each race day will be fully serviced with reviving nutrition and drinks, local, Chinese and western delicacies and a barbeque to finish off the day.
