Little background: 26 year old, resting heart rate of 40-45bpm.
I use an edge 305 for all my rides, usually at the start of a hard workout I do a warmup and get my heart rate up to around 140bpm then over a couples of minutes of hard workout my heart rate climbs up to 175-185 and I keep it there for the rest of the ride.
I have noticed really high heart rates before races however. Last couple weekends I have noticed my heart rate at over 170 or more before I have really even started my warmup.
I've only done 4 races or so , is it just nervousness?
