Thatís not an attack. Rather, that is a typical scenario involving a deer attempting to get from point A to point B.

We should perform due diligence before jumping to conclusions.

I did not question the deer. I do not know his intentions.

He may have misjudged the cyclists speed in a ramming attempt and/or the cyclist may have applied the brakes suddenly, causing the deer to clip his front end versus the deer's potential original attempt at a direct ramming attempt.

I live nearby and went there to interview the deer. In fact the deer was trying to hit the cyclist. The deer told me he was tired of all the bikes and did not want share the trail any longer.

The deer probably thought the guy had a 32 tooth, and not a 44 tooth chainring.

Definitely a case of clipless vs platform pedals. This guy was obviously using platform pedals for an xc event and had to be taken out.

Looks like the rider wasn't seriously injured. Could have been worse if it had been a bigger buck w/rack.

I suspect some collusion with the deer and one of the riders ahead of the victim. There are rules about interfering with or assisting riders. And about handing up venison outside of feed zones.

I see deer 3 out of every 4 rides during the summer, and I agree with your conclusion!
