I ended up taking that important race off, as well as about 2.5 weeks to allow it to almost completely heal. Not an easy 2.5 weeks, especially for my wife. This week I have done a couple of hard rides. My plan is to just ride for a week or so to warm up the legs before getting back into intervals. Man, my cardio is still great but I lost a lot of power. It's weird to be hitting a climb and the heart rate is fine while the legs are screaming. I think it will come back quickly with some structured intervals. I would like some good results this season since I worked so damn hard this Winter.
