Best way to train for XC,time for some crit racing

Tomorrow starts the annual South Jersey Spring Series, I am racing the 4/5 and the 35+4/5
back-to-back. Each race is short (half hour) but boy that effort really helps with the hard efforts i
hope to be doing on the MTB soon!!

Wheel side up ladies and gentleman, if anyone else is doing some road work this weekend BE SAFE!!

I would invest in trail time instead.

since the MTB is in the shop getting prepped for this race season, i think an hour at race tempo was a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning!!

I think crits are a great way to get a "breakthrough" workout during base and build periods. Super hard, especially when there's crosswinds.

Usually I do a crit and then follow up with some base hours, on Saturdays pre-MTB season. Other days I'll get intervals and trail riding in too. Seems I get best results when I mix things up.
