No one commented on my last batch of photos, but then, I didn't write much. this time I'll explain the pics a bit more, but I must say, I'm tired and my legs are sore, so the typing will be minimal.
We all went to Hurricane/St. George, UT for the weekend. We are helping some franchisees out with getting things going, and part of it must be a very careful inspection of the trails. We rolled in on Friday and went straight to work on those inspections. T-Roy, J-dog, T-rider (tiggerrider), and Q-man all went on the JEM trail to the Hurricane Rim trail. Seeing as I had done that ride in the past and D-belle was not ready for such a demanding trail, we checked out Gould's trail and Gould's Rim trail. Here are the photos from Friday's ride with D-belle:
Hurricane is pretty famous for it's Gooseberry Mesa Trail, but the lesser known Little Creek Mesa has an unbelievable trail system. It's not as well marked, but it has many more options. Bring a local...
On this ride we were all together. It works well on these type of trails because D-belle can forgoe all the crazy stunts, ledges, and jumps and therefore keep up with the crowd.
I really wish this next photo was in focus, but it's rare I can catch J-dog on camera.
T-Roy was definitely ready to play:
D-belle had to try at least some stuff:
Of course, we had to take in the views of Zion:
And there was some crazy sideways descending:
My one shot of T-rider for the weekend:
The singletrack between slickrock is equally entertaining:
The Q-man showing us how the locals do it:
Little Creek has some very cool Native American Petroglyphs:
I can't wait until I can take The Buglet off roading! For now it's doing the 20 mile round trip to town and back with the road bikes and trailer. I was bucking a pretty good headwind and had a load of groceries to boot on the return trip so I was pretty beat by the time we came back.
The glasses were apparently a hit, because she insisted wearing them this morning and again this afternoon in the house. Cue your choice of tunes: "Easy Rider" or "Born to be Wild"....
I love it when you torture me with pics screampint, the last time must have been when I was banned from posting.
I cannot wait to get back up there. I really want to come in the spring next time.
Wait a minute! Since when has your infant become a toddler!? Sheesh! Seems like yesterday you were asking about how long into the pregnancy you could ride. Buglet is adorable, and it won't be long at all before you are taking her out on the trails.
She has probably ridden about 10-12 miles as a max for a day, that would be on dirt. On the road she does that easily, but we haven't been able to push it as much, as mom is a little worried about the traffic. I find it all pretty impressive as she's on little 24 inch wheels on a bike that is more than 1/2 her body weight.

(and even if you don't get comments, keep posting pics! Sometimes you feel silly just posting something generic about how nice the photos are or how fun the trail looked and don't do it - but it doesn't mean they don't get enjoyed!)

Well said. I always look at the pics. I may not always post a comment but quite often another "oh, I gotta ride there" is added to the ever growing list. Thanks for sharing.

wow, screampint! what great pics. little miss looks like a pro already on her little rocky. what a sweetheart. you should do a side-by-side photo of her using the face shot on the trail and the lovely dance recital one. pretty in pink and dropping the ledges. lllllove it!
Wow. Really cool. I can't wait to get back over there. We rode Jem and Gould's two Christmases ago. I absolutely love the Hurricaine area. We are really hoping to get back over there this Christmas. Thanks for the pics. Its really cool your whole family is into biking.
That's so awesome. I hope I can convince my daughter to go out with me once she's a little bigger. Right now she's decided no biking until summer for some reason. Makes me sad.
vryslowrdr, those trailer pulls into a headwind are great for climbing strength.

How old is she? I'm not above bribing with Starburst Fruit Chews (they don't melt in heat). And I can't tell you how many times we have had to bring a "friend" (in the form of a stuffed animal).
No doubt on the hauling kids bit. How do you think I got strong enough to singlespeed?
