1 Woman, 1 Bike, 10 days Exploring VT

Here's a few pics from my bikecamping trip. I left the car at home and pedaled around to 5 MTB trail networks I had not tried yet. After arriving at a campground, I would unload the camping gear from the bike and ride the singletrack the next day on a lighter bike.

My favorite was in Moosalamoo National Recreation Area, and is called the Chandler Ridge/Leicester Hollow Loop. It is in a gorgeous wilderness, and the trail was just opened last summer and was impressively built (great stonework!) by USFS with VT Mountain Bike Assoc & VT Youth Conservation Corps. The lake pic is from there, and the rotten bridge was on the approach "road". More info on Moosalamoo mountain biking

I live only 5 miles from Millstone, so I get to explore that one regularly, and bikecommute through it (the second pic is leaving work for the trip)! Ascutney was on the list when I first started planning, but I had to scale it back because I quickly had 17 days worth of riding and not 17 days of vacation! I've only been there once and that was 10 years ago. So many trails!

This is super accomplishment as well as a great trip...

... What 5 areas did you visit? I'm always looking for stuff to add to the BP forum. Can I add this as a "link" in the backpacking forum?

    Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I never used to think I'd like riding a loaded up bike, but I got hooked after reading the adventures of rodar and commuterboy over on the commuter forum. This was my second trip.

NEPMBTA, I started out in Graniteville and went up to Stowe, then Hinesburg (rained out of trailriding though), then Moosalamoo, then Rutland (Pine Hill Park), and Pittsfield (Green Mtn trails). I did a brief post in the BP forum ("Some thoughts..."?), giving links to a post with my commuter friends and one with the VT regional forum. So most if not all of these pics are repeats of those.
