XTR FD-M986 Double Chainring Front Derailleur on a Beer Budget

JensonUSA "Shimano XTR M986 Oe Front Derailleur" $69 listed as 31.8mm with a pic of a direct mount. In reality it is the XTR 34.9mm high clamp with 31.8mm shims pre-installed (28.6mm shim are not included as with the retail version). I received mine today, pulled out the shims and mounted it. Nice piece, btw I used a coupon "LOYAL13" for $5 off a $25+ order, as usual free shipping on $50+ orders. Not a bad buy for $64 IMO

You can search to find XTR and XT front deraillures for around $50 pretty often.

Great call on this deal. Mine was a 34.9 with 31.8 shims. Thanks again!

    Your welcome,

I didn't think there was more than one "size" clamp on the XTR and couldn't find any Shimano docs to contradict what I thought/knew wnet for it and posted my results.

Back in the day, they used to have a separate size for each, with top and bottom pull. Now Shimano can have 1 derailleur, where there used to be 6. Made for a bit of a stocking nightmare for shops.
