Most bike companies do not allow on-line sales of complete bikes.
    mtbtires.com
The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

Why is that? I thought I would get a better deal. I guess to keep the mom and pop shops in business. Oh well. Not a prob. Just wanted to check.

    Thanks

It's called liability. Someone orders a bike over the net, does a piss-poor job assembling it, crashes, and then sues the company.

Ibex is one of the better online bike companies, check out the Ibex forum http://forums.mtbr.com/ibex/. Ironhorse is one of the few bigger brand names that are sold online. Performancebike and Randall Scott have good deals on Ironhorse bikes. There are a few online bike shops that sell high end bikes like Santa Cruz, Titus, Yeti, ect.
