my order was cancelled due to an amazon mix-up. Was told that it tracked to the shifter, not the r.der in the vendors systems.

Wondering if the $134.13 + 4.86 shipped is an error like Green Giant experienced.

I see where the confusion is. Searching for X01 derailleur brings up the X01 shifter for that price.

Alright, I decided to play "guess what shows up" and placed an order minutes ago. Maybe it'll be cancelled. Maybe the X01 derailleur shows up or maybe an X01 trigger shifter shows up.

Mine was that shipper, too. Everything points to a derailleur except the words "trigger shifter" appeared once during the order process, but not at checkout. Indeed, time will tell.

Ordered one, says it's fulfilled by competitive cyclist now, let's see if it goes through; indicated it was the rear derailleur all the way through order process

you're not going to get a derailleur. the description is clearly for a shifter and their shifterfor sale Amazon.com: SRAM X01 11-Speed Rear Derailleur, Red: Sports & Outdoors has a picture and brief description of a derailleur.

My Amazon invoice clearly says derailleur with a picture of a derailleur.

Awesome ad. Changed from yesterday. Now it has description of derailleur but pic of shifter and derailleur, and the price went up for both.

This one has the original $139 price: Amazon.com: SRAM X01 11-Speed Rear Derailleur, Red: Sports & Outdoors

Large upper pulley offset automatically adjusts chain gap
Straight parallelogram design with horizontal movement reduces shift force and improves drivetrain performance
TYPE 2 technologies: ROLLER BEARING CLUTCH and CAGE LOCK
12T X-SYNC pulley wheels with silent tooth design
    Weight: 220g

Thanks for the heads up, jazzanova. I just messaged the shipper via Amazon and cancelled the order; said I didn't want the shop to pay for shipping both ways.

So, this popped up again at:

Amazon.com: SRAM X01 11-Speed Rear Derailleur, Red: Sports & Outdoors

Description of a RD, pics of a shifter. Price of $139. From Comp cyclist and a few others.

But, there is one listed as being sold by Amazon, that is $188. Way too much for a shifter (higher than retail). So, I ordered one.... image shown in cart and all of the description is of an X01 RD.

Worse case, they pay for shipping both ways. Best case, I just scored a RD for about $100 off retail. They have like 3 left.

Got a shipping notice on mine. I'm hoping since it's coming from amazon that it's a RD. If it is, I'm totally fine with paying $188

If you get one for $139, I'll order another

If you're fine with paying $188 for an X01 derailleur and aren't hung up on the principle of $2 more......this seller has shipped me several XX1 derailleurs for $190 total: New SRAM XX1 Type 2 Rear Derailleur x Autation 11SPEED | eBay

Showed up in about 5 days to the US.

My $188 one is out for delivery, I'll report back. I'm still mildly optimistic, since $188 is was more than a shifter retails for and it was an item sold and shipped directly by Amazon.

    I'll report back later

Confirmed. If you choose the Amazon direct option or $188 you will get an X01 rd. That's not the steal of $139, but still cheaper than I've seen them anywhere else and $100 off retail.

Not too shabby. $188 for the X01 and you get it in a week or less. The other option, as mentioned in this thread, is an XX1 derailleur for $190 delivered and it takes about 7 business days; fleabay seller in Taiwan. Six of one, half dozen the other...

Agreed. Didn't know that guy was taking offers of $190 or I'd have put one in. Did you just submit a Best Offer and get it for that price? I might return this one and get an XX1 if so.

But, Amazon Prime rocks. Free 2 day

The seller's usual Best Offer counteroffer is $199, but I started offering $190 and he took it.
As for your X01 derailleur which you have in hand....I'd keep it. The derailleurs are basically the same except for a few grams difference and the cosmetic markup. Shifts the same. Yes, having XX1 on the derailleur is great for parking lot conversation and listing bike build spec, and if you have the time to reship back and wait for the XX1 at $2 more then I see no disadvantage. But what's the saying? A bird in hand is better than two in the bush?

Yea, and Amazon just refunded me $7 since their new price is like $181. Can't beat that.

Will keep that seller in mind for the future though. Thanks!

I offered $190 for the XX1 as a Best Offer
The guy kept sending me MANY counter offers of $210 and then $205 until I sent him a message that I wasn't moving on the price
I guess I should of started out at $150. But I wasn't looking to get into a 45min decline fest on my phone
even at $205 or the $200 he was probably looking to get it's not a bad deal
I was looking at as if I get it for $190 I'll keep it for the inevitability of when I smack the one I have

Definitely not worth the hassle. I went "$175" and he came back at $199 and I went $190 and he agreed.

I'd go for the $181 delivered X01 from Amazon.

Go to Amazon.com: SRAM X01 11-Speed Rear Derailleur, Red: Sports & Outdoors and on far right under More Buying Choices, about halfway down, is the Amazon seller (Amazon itself, not a shop) for the $181.06 derailleur.

4 left in stock: Amazon.com Shopping Cart

And if anyone is looking for an X01 trigger shifter, I have a new take-off. It's the red/black color. Comes with cable: as with most take-off cables it may or may not pass through your housing without catching a wire strand. Even comes with a pretty long continuous strand of OEM housing that normally comes with the XX1 shifter (X01 shifters do not come with any housing unlike the XX1).

$98 delivered priority mail in the US.
