Where was this deal three months ago? haha. Oh well, I'm satisfied with the X9/AKA level cranks that came with a bb for about half that. Some great deals on Jensonusa lately

Good deal. If you are 'tempted' just get it and if you find out you don't want to use it, the resale value is still there, break even. You never know.

This is the only time of the year I stock up on gear since historically the best prices are between T-giving and X-mas.

The web page doesn't say what year crank this is, and I think SRAM has only had the removable spiders for a year or two

Looks like the removable spider was introduced with 2x10 or 3x10, which this one falls under.

The biggest changes come to the drivetrain, which has been updated to offer 2 x10 or 3 x10 options. Both setups receive a new X0-branded 788-gram (with bottom bracket) Truvativ carbon crankset with removable spider that SRAM claims is 10 to 15 percent stiffer than XX, yet weighs only 60 grams more. The 2 x10 group receives a 36-tooth rear cassette that uses stamped steel cogs held together by steel pins. X0, like all the component groups this year, receives a dedicated front derailleur.
