    might have to return the deore cranks i just got from pricepoint...

    is the upgrade from LX to XT worth it? what are the weights on these?

    I've used both, both are excellent. I believe the majority of the weight difference is in the rings.

    Those LX cranks look like they have a removable spider. I'm I just hallucinating?

    Most certain both of those cranks have pressed and crimped spiders and non-removable without permenant change/damage.

    Does anyone know if Merlin charges duties for items shipped into the US?

    They have never charged me, 4 transactions. Not sure how the customs duty thing works, however

    Neither Merlin nor any other merchant charge duty - it is your government that does and it is usually collected by the shipping company.

    What does that mean? Does the mailman ask you for money on delivery? Will your box be held up in customs?
    Or does the box just go through under the radar?
    I'm happy to delete this post if anyone things it would be prudent. Just PM me.

    The Carrier will hold your package till you pay the duty.

    So, the google search I ran got me to a duty calculator which said it would be $52 bucks for duty and fees.

    $52 in addition? That kinda knocks the shine off the deal doesn't it?

    I bought a few things from Chain Reaction and there was no duty added.

    Hopefully it'll be the same for you.
