Had a similar dilemma. Ended up going with a Syntace Carbon Hiflex P6. Better warranty and remarkably similar to Niner's post. Got it for $150 from bikebling with a coupon a few months back. Quick google search shows they can be had for as low as $157 right now.

The cheapest I've seen the Syntace is $165. Jenson will price match. They have other sizes.

whats your problem !? anyway... its for my specialized carve sl. which is a fairly low priced bike. just looking for a good flexy seatpost to take the edge off.

I haven't ridden the niner version but have the Syntace on my Air9. It is a high quality post and works as advertised. Big improvement from the super stuff Thomson I had on there originally.
