    Paypal $15 of $30

    https://paypal.promotionexpert.com/g...l?route=misc.s

Spend $30 or more online using Paypal and get $15 back (sometime in May, according to the terms & conditions. Ebay is included.

    I call BS!

I think this may a "phising" site. Per Paypal's security page they will never . . .

Questions PayPal will never ask you in an email.
To help you better identify fake emails, we follow strict rules. We will never ask for the following personal information in email:

    Credit and debit card numbers
    Bank account numbers
    Driver's license numbers
    Email addresses
    Passwords
    Your full name

    . . . Never ask you for your EMAIL ADDRESS . . . hmmm, I'm very suspicious

I think it's legit. There's a link to it from the Paypal.com homepage.

Look for Get a $15 Rebate in the upper righthand corner.

Read the terms and conditions carefully. No personal account payments eligible for the rebate. there goes most of Ebay transactions.

I believe by personal account payments, that would be like me asking you to send me money and you send me $100 via Paypal.

#3 in the terms lists ebay as eligible.

    # Eligible Website. You must make a purchase on www.eBay.com, www.eBay.ca or any United States or Canadian website that accepts PayPal. Purchases on www.eBay.com and www.eBay.ca must be made through the eBay checkout flow via the eBay website and must not be made through the PayPal Send Money tab.

    Interesting thought.

I'm skeptical that they will really honour a private sale on ebay. I'm wondering if they are really going to be hardassed about it and tell you ONLY merchant accounts will work.

Someone try it and let's see. I'll probably use it anyway, and hell, it's just 15 bucks, so if I don't get it, no harm no foul.

FYI, I got the "official" e-mail from Paypal a little while ago. Its a promotions thing... When you click on the link from the Paypal e-mail, it takes you to the official site, and then redirects you to the "promotions" page. The e-mail is legit, has all of Paypal's security stuff in it.

As for the "personal account payments" I think they are referring to paying for account services, i.e. paying your eBay invoice with your Paypal account.

Many ebay stores sell bike stuff, which would qualify.

I buy odds and ends from icyclesusa.com and use paypal there.

Yup...I thought it was a spam e-mail, but I logged in (not from the e-mail link because I thought it might be a phish attempt) and lo and behold an extra $15 was in my acct.

Make that 4. I got mine about 2 weeks ago. I actually forgot about it and lo and behold. I was kind of worried after reading off the the 'fine' print. Then again, PayPal's probably making a killing off of fees so it wouldn't hurt them to run a promotion like this. I was they'd run more promotions though. They have them to far in between.

It is a scam because of the web address.

    https://paypal.promotionexpert.com/...

"paypal" is the sub-domain of promotionexpert.com

    http://www.promotionexpert.com

I strongly suggest that you cancel your paypal account and give a heads up to your credit card company before it is too late.

Why exactly would I contact my credit card Issuer? I made a purchase on an authorized site using PP funded with a credit card. As per the promotion, PP then moved $15 dollars into my secure PP account. What exactly am I worried about?
