    Nashbar just pissed me off.

o i was in the market for some new Vs and found a deal on Nashbar. $65 for SD7 calipers, and (i thought SD7 levers, but turned out to be) AD3 levers. got the package today, opened it up and noticed the calipers didn't have Rim Wranglers on them, like the other pair i ordered had. that's fine, whatever....though, i was pretty sure all SD7s came with Rim Wranglers.

anyway, i pull out the levers and notice they aren't the SD7s i thought. so i looked at the ad, and indeed, it was AD3s in the deal. that's fine. i'll be selling them anyway. or so i thought. i'm checking them over and notice they don't look "new". looks some more and what do i notice? well, put it this way, how many things can you spot wrong in this picture:

    argh.

the right lever spring is shot, and it's lacking the little thing that holds the brake cable. the calipers are lacking rim wrangler pads and the little bushings that go around the brake bosses keep falling out. think i'll be sending them back.

I'd send them back too. They should have come with Rim Wrangler pads, and I believe you can get them with the SD7 levers at pricepoint and or supergo. Check out Ebay too. Seller named Elguapogrande usually is selling Avid brake stuff.

yeah, PP's got the SD7 lever/caliper combo for $70. someone on ebay is selling the kit i got ($65) for $80. saw someone else pay $60 for SD7 calipers. people should really learn to look around, rather than live off ebay.

street/park bike, don't need discs...or don't want them. that frame in the background had discs, but that's only 'cause it wouldn't take Vs.

you get what you pay for

i think you've just received the OEM calipers.

the levers did not come with the 'speed dial' knob

I just made the same order...probably with the same result! I thought 49.99 was a great deal for some sd7's! Wish I read your email first!
