    Skareb elite at Supergo

Ok, so it's $225, but I just picked up a 04 Skareb Elite 100mm (black) at Supergo. If you live near one, save on shipping, plus they have periodic in-store no-sales-tax days. This is not as good as that Jenson deal for the same fork w/SPV for $220 from a few weeks ago (does anyone know if there are any of those left anywhere?), but it's still the best around. This fork is for xc of course, ideally not big riders taking big drops.

By the way, does anyone know why the sale Skareb Elites are black and not silver as on the Manitou website? I suspect OEM, but there are no technical changes I can notice, just the color. What bikes came stock in 04 with a black Skareb Elite?

I believe the Supergo Skarebs are '03, that's why they are black. You can pick-up the silver '04 Skareb Elite from performance for around $225 after you use the current 20% on-line coupon and receive your 10% team performance points....

    pretty sure they're 04s

The box they come in says 04 ("04 SKAREB ELT BLK 100MM"), the manual that comes with them says 04, the crown skirts are clearly the longer length updated for 04, and the numbers "04" are cast into the fork body on the left leg, between the disk brake mounts. I even think the graphics match the 04s, really it's just a different color. Also, if the mtbr.com review picture is correct, the 03 Elite had those little rubber dust wipers, the Elites at Supergo don't. So I'm pretty sure they're 04s. I can post a picture if you want.

I just received a '04 100mm Skareb Platinum from Greenfish for $349. That's a good deal on a $700 fork. They even threw in a nice t-shirt for free.

BTW, they are black and disk specific. No v-brake bosses.

Performance and Supergo are both out of stock on the Skareb Elites. Anyone know of a similar deal?

I was just at the Mountain View store and they had at least one left.

More importantly, they had a Minute 3:00 (SPV) for $350! It's a handful of ounces more than the Skareb Platinum, but better for the bigger stuff and with travel adjustable to 130mm.

Supergo and Performance websites both say it's in stock but it isn't.

Might as well through my hat in the ring. I have one of those Jenson Skareb Elite 100mm with SPV that I will sell. I rode it three times and decided 100mm is too long for that particular bike and intended purpose. The steerer is cut to 8". Obviously the fork looks new, even the paint on the dropouts is barely scratched. $220+ shipping.
