Looking for a Good Seat/Seat Post Combo???

I have a 2004 Kona Kikapu and I am getting tired of the factory seat/saddle and the seatpost. My A$$ hurts every time I ride and the adjustments always get loose. What is a good seat and subsequent seat post to look for that is reasonable and that would be a step up from the factory Kona combo I currently have?? Thanks for the help!!

Is the WTB Speed V a good saddle?? Would it be a step up?

Seats are a personal, very personal, choice. What I find comfy might be an ass-hatchet for you.

For seat-posts however there are a few that get mentioned pretty regularly...

I'd take a look at a Thomson (look on EBay for deals) or a Salsa. Both are pretty good. I've had both, and if I need one with Layback- I'd take the Salsa. If I wanted a straight post I'd take the Thomson.
